The Future of Medicine is Energy

Energy is the basis for all things. Waves of energy are strung together in the form of protons, neutrons and electrons. They create the basic building blocks of all physical matter. It’s fascinating to ponder that our physical bodies begin as waves of energy!

Let’s continue with this energy wave concept and apply an analogy to illness in the body.

Imagine a strummed guitar string (physical body) with energy of the body naturally reverberating as a wave of sound (well-being). If the string is some how compromised, understandably the sound would be compromised as well.

Most often, the first inclination to address the unpleasant sounds of the body (symptoms of illness) is to adjust the guitar string. Is the string is stretched too tight or is it too loose? Maybe the string needs to be replaced? But tuning out illness goes beyond the physicality of a compromised string. We have not yet considered the guitarist playing the instrument.

The guitarist represents our conscious or subconscious intentions, interpretations or inclinations. The energies of the mind and emotion are the unseen motivators of the string. Perhaps the string of physicality is being strummed too hard (anger or angst) or in a rapid (stress) or irregular motion (confusion). Maybe there is a fear of creating too much noise (anxiety) or not wanting to strum the instrument at all (depression). This internal music is influenced by outer stimulus and internal belief systems, orchestrated by the guitarist. Either way, the guitarist plays (pun intended) a significant role in the sound of well-being on the instrument of the body. Hence the phrase, “Of sound mind and body”.

Thoughts are like music notes written in the guitarist’s symphony. The notes convey the energy of the guitarist’s orchestrated masterpiece. And the body reflects the internal music.

Once we understand this concept, it makes it simple to rewrite a different tune for the body to play on its external sound system. Let’s use cardiovascular disease as an example. Most often, the underlying energy of heart disease is the unconscious fear of opening One’s heart to love. This can be romantic love as well as brotherly/sisterly love towards humankind. American culture is saturated with this fear. For generations, the majority of society has been convinced that being loving and kind is equated with weakness. Through fear, we close our hearts to perceived injury, both physical and non-physical, and live in separation and distrust of others. We have been conditioned to be on the defensive on every account.

There is an arising awareness in the health industry that medicine should be more than just addressing symptoms in the body. More now than ever, we are learning that when addressing illnesses, a holistic approach is highly beneficial. Treating the whole person can be a lengthy endeavor requiring due diligence but in the long run, it creates a higher success rate of optimal health. Addressing the underlying energy of the body, emotion, and mind is a valuable precursor to the formulation of holistic treatment.

Once we are willing to explore and re-orchestrate the underlying energies that cause disharmony within the body, we open ourselves up to a melodious world of well-being.
