Truth, Love and Ease

It has been challenging for me to decide what to write about for this newsletter with all that is going on in the world and what is going on in our sweet little valley. It seems out of place for me to talk about sunscreens, herbal compresses, seasonal skincare, medicinal skin care ingredients, gua sha techniques and the importance of human touch.

Although we are divided and isolated, touch is most certainly more important than ever. I recently saw a dear friend walking by my house with his beautiful wife whom I had yet to meet. I ran outside in excitement to meet her and share a moment with a familiar friend. Energetically, I was pulled to them like water to a plant. My body needed the nourishment of human connection. I excitedly asked for a hug. My entire being was lifted and my nervous system was elated.

I began thinking, what am I doing on a daily basis to maintain the health of my body, my spirit, and my mind? What am I doing to be present? What am I doing to stay in a state of ease? Am I in my parasympathetic nervous system more than my sympathetic nervous system most of the time? Am I feeling rested? Am I digesting my food properly to give my body nourishment to heal, and strengthen my immune system? And the big question… How am I calling in laughter and joy? Which I don't need to tell you, it is truly is the best medicine. Ah, to laugh, cry, and be merry.

Having two very active pipsqueaks (their words, not mine), allows very little time to myself. But I definitely manage to find a few minutes here and there to do the following:

  • Change Perspectives: A few weeks ago a dear friend of mine came for a visit. She is a Process Work practitioner as well as a Waldorf teacher. My son was exhibiting a behavior that I perceived as stressful. My friend said to me, “Instead of seeing what is wrong with his behavior, try seeing what is right with his behavior.” In other words, with any judgement, criticism, problem, or negative thought - change your perspective and ask what is right or good with the situation instead of what is wrong or bad. I really took her words to heart. It has brought profound healing for me. It has grounded me in my truth and helped me stay in homeostasis. Every one of us gets to choose how we perceive life's events and how we respond.

  • Breath-work: We all know how important breathing is for our bodies. Especially when considering how difficult it can be to breathe in the Rogue Valley due to the wildfire smoke. Our lungs (and our patience) are certainly being put to the test. I do breath-work daily, multiple times throughout the day. I find that it integrates my mind, body, and spirit.

I do the following short and sweet routine.

    1. Focus on a tree full of leaves.

    2. Take a deep breath in through the nose and release through the mouth.

    3. Envision the breath traveling up into the tree and hitting one of the leaves. Imagine the targeted leaf respond like a chime, sending the breath back to you.

    4. Repeat. Each breath is six seconds in and six seconds out.

As I do my breath-work, I feel the vitality of my breath and give thanks to all the hard work that my body does for me. I say the mantra "I am resilient, I am resourceful, I am creative, I am unique, I am beautiful, I am love." This can take a little or as long as you are called to do it. Notice where you are holding energy in your body and release. End with giving yourself a hug and tell yourself, "I love you".

  • The Metatron Prayer of Abundance and Protection: This is a prayer that was recommended to me by my sister Graina. I do this prayer every evening before bed and in the morning while I greet my children. This is a channeled prayer that was given to Michelle Whitedove by Archangel Metatron, the scribe for God.

    1. Put up your first shield (Clockwise movement): Envision a sphere of silver light, which is the Christ Consciousness. Visualize God protecting you. See yourself encased in a 3-Dimensional bubble of silver light that encircles your entire body. As you visualize, say a personal prayer of gratitude, e.g. “May everything that I say and do come from unconditional love and the Christ Consciousness”.

    2. Put up your second shield: Imagine a mirrored sphere facing OUTward, to reflect back any negativity or darkness aimed at you. This mirror will bounce the negativity right back to the sender – instant Karma. Only Love and light will penetrate this shield. As you visualize, say a personal prayer of gratitude, e.g. “I surround myself with a mirrored sphere facing outward to repel all negativity; I give thanks for the protection of Metatron. Only Love and Light may enter my force field”.

    3. The third shield is a Golden bubble of light of the Angel kingdom. Visualize yourself embraced by the angels. Bright Gold Dust is falling all around you. As you visualize, say a personal prayer of gratitude, e.g. “I call my guardian Angels to me; I give thanks for their love. protection and support. I am open to hear their messages. Through God, anything that I touch, have touched, or will touch turns to gold and brings abundance”.

    4. Visualize a 3-D pyramid around you, pointed upward. Then visualize a downwardly-pointed pyramid, forming a three dimensional Star of David around you. When you’ve done this, you have created sacred geometry called the Merkaba or Lotus Flower around your personal space.

    5. Now seal yourself in one giant sphere of God’s white protective light.

In closing, we each have the power to shift ourselves - shift out of old belief systems that no longer serve us. We have the power to nourish ourselves, love ourselves, and love others. It takes courage to change any kind of human behavior, thought patterns, and belief system. If we can release our ego and deeply-held thought patterns, we can love, laugh, be merry, and healthy.
